♡ 126 ( +1 | -1 ) 1st game White player1.e4 e6 2.Qe2!? c6 3.Nf3 h6 4.d4 g6 5.a3 [5.Nc3 Development is better when black lags. No need to worry about ...Bb4 which can be answered by Bd2 and then 0-0-0 or a3. ] 5...Bg7 6.Be3 Clumsy. Black is obviuosly going to play d7..d5 so its not good to slacken the defence of the e4-pawn. [6.Bf4 Is far more ambitiuos - eyeing the weakened d6 square. Now 6...g5 can be met by 7.Bd6 with a tight grip on black. ] 6...d5 7.exd5? Losing the initiative its better to keep tension. If 6.Bf4 had been played, then 6...d5 would have been met by 7.Nc3 dxe4 8.Nxe4 Bxd4? 9.Nd6+ ! [7.Nbd2 White must not exchange on d5 since that helps black.] 7...cxd5 8.Nc3 The knight dosent have any good squares from here. [8.Qd1 The drawbacks of 2.Qe2 are apparent. But the Bf1 is "needed" at d3 and the b1-knight at d2 then maybe Nd2-f1-g3.] 8...a6 9.g3 The fianchetto of this bishop gives nothing to white - except the chance to castle. 9...Nd7 10.Bg2 Ngf6 11.0-0 b5 12.b4 This weakens the c4-square, and now the c-file and especially the c-pawn will become a target for blacks pieces. 12...Bb7 13.h3? [13.a4 Was needed immediatly to fight for the initiative on the Queenside. Why else would 12.b4 be played?] 13...Nb6 14.Ne5 Qd6 15.Bd2 Nfd7 16.f4 0-0-0 17.a4 [17.Nxf7 why not take the material, it deprives black of counterchances. 17...Bxd4+ 18.Be3 Bxe3+ 19.Qxe3] 17...Bxe5 18.fxe5 g5 19.axb5 Did you feel sorry for black?
