Any chance? Cyrano challenged me and I accepted. Anyone think I have even a remote chance of winning?

off the subject that in no way even comes anywhere near to answering my question and I cannot begin to say how unintelligent you are. If only I could say what I really wanted to, but no swears allowed. Besides the yankees are good.

Good luck!! I just wondering why Cyrano challenged you,I mean any special reason?Hes currently the number one player on this site i think.Anyway, theres always chances man.eyes open wide and show him NO MERCY ;).

Settle down, ares. You may have a slight chance, if you would like a hint, stay away from complex opening positions in particular, he is tremendousy knowledgeable about the opening--- and most other stages of the game in fact, but I believe he is epecially good with the opening.
aggropolis 5 ( +1 | -1 )
To make it short stay away from playing him in any position.

p.s.--- calling an elderly vet with a higher rating then you 'unintelligent' is not to smart!

if I were to play anyone much higher in rating than me, complex situations is the way to go... that is where u have more chances, where there would be more tactics... more choices to make..

else, u will definitely lose out in terms of positional play in a quiet game...

my 1/2 cent worth.. :)

Hmmm... French....

C'mon ares, I'm supporting you. Play like a grandmaster... Don't rush, don't be afraid to lose, just bring a quality play.

I'm sorry I only play people with a sense of humor! You seem to be wound too tight.

I just.... Got a game with him too, and I'm 500 points below you :D

Oh and, as I'm sure everyone realised, skipwallace was just making a joke based on ares' profile picture - a Yankees logo.

Good luck ares :P

Pittsburgh Pirates I'm an old Pirates fan, but I challenged Ares only because he asked me for a game some time ago ...
ares 17 ( +1 | -1 )
It's over Though as I type this message we are equal in points. His position is far better than mine. And though I hate to say it, I lose my first game (besides a timeout)

Thank you Your opening choice was good, but 11...gxf6 was an error. Better is 11...Nxf6 as played by Kortschnoj against Anand with an unclear position.
Taking the knight it's wrong. The only chance for black was to play 12...Nb6 but white was clearly better

Dear Cyrano
I hope someday I will have a game with you. May be in the tournament :)
loreta 33 ( +1 | -1 )
Only slight possibility Ares, you are lucky...
I'd like to play with somebody from GK top20 list but don't feel ready to challenge any of them yet.
Anyway, I have now a possibility for very slow game (14 days per move), only - time troubles, eh, the time ;-). And I'm saving that slot for thematic match (for some specified opening).
